Namugongo Martyrs Shrine is on of the largest Christian pilgrimage destinations in Africa dedicated to the martyrs and saints of Uganda who died for their faith under the reign of Kabaka Mwanga II of Buganda kingdom due to their conversion to Christianity. The grounds hold annual celebrations and prayers on 6th June as memorial for those who died for their faith. There is a martyr’s museum in close proximity and one can learn more about the martyrs, get inspired and rooted more to religion.
