Uganda National Mosque.

Kampala ->Uganda

Also known as the Gaddafi Mosque, it’s the largest of mosques in East Africa. The mosque seats up to 15,000worshipers and can hold another 1,100 in the gallery while the terrace can cater for 3,500 persons. Commissioned in 2007 the construction was funded by the former Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. The site contributes largely to the country’s religious tourism as several Muslims visit the mosque. It’s a great location to view the busy Kampala City when one climbs its 304 stairs high minaret.
